October Highlights 2024

Even though November is upon us we thought it'd be a good time to do a 2024 highlights edition of last October and Halloween! The Spooky Costume Contest returned and took place during most of the month. There were also quite a few new Meshcaid marketplace additions and Uniques introduced to the market.

Last year we said that events would take place on Meshcaid itself rather than on the Meshcaid community Discord or any other third-party applications and this was true for every event. With the exception of this year's Spooky Costume Contest and initial voting for this year's Collective Force, as we felt it would be a better use of time to focus development efforts on more key areas. It also helped that with some slight modifications to how we ran it last year, the Meshcaid community Discord was a good place to host the event.

For 2024, one costume really stood out from the rest, slurp's Headless Horseman. This was because it made use of a complex bug that cannot be achieved by normal means. Two other notable costumes were Unicorn's Scarecrow and Jack's 45th President. All three of these costumes made it to final voting by securing the most votes out of any other submissions excluding staff members who cannot be candidates for final voting.

The first and second-place winners will receive their very own Voodoo dolls based on their winning Spooky Costume Contest submissions. First place will receive the Voodoo doll and second place will receive the Voodoo doll necklace.

That's not all either, throughout the month of October our 2024 Halloween collection was slowly being released with some pretty haunting additions, a total of 9 items were released including a new unique, Fredward The Arachnid.

Fredward The Arachnid went on sale beginning October 10th before going off sale on October 31st, it sold a total of 31 times and was on sale for 21 days before the listing expired and it went off sale.

The rest of the 2024 Halloween collection items remain on sale as of the publish date for this post. Additionally, the Crimson Wizard's Hat from last year's 2023 Halloween collection randomly had a 6-hour listing expiration timer appear before going Unique on October 13th.
